Ft Lauderdale, Florida – More than 90 industry leading professionals congregated at the Marriot North-Ft Lauderdale January 24-26, 2006 to attend the blown film industry’s leading symposium – Resin2Revenue 2006. The symposium is Future Design’s bi-annual event, fulfilling their mission to create an avenue for innovators, movers and shakers within the blown film industry to keep informed of the latest advancements and trends to stay competitive in a global economy. Early arrivals on January 23 had an opportunity to participate with fellow industry professionals in a round of competition golf and enjoy an evening reception amongst their peers networking with attendees from across the globe.
Bob_Krycki of Future Design Inc. had the honour of presenting the Pioneers Of Plastics awards to Jim_Pilgrim and Rick_Knittel. These gentlemen contributed a great deal of their lives to improving equipment & raw materials for the blown film industry. Congratulations!
On Thursday, attendees were inspired and entertained by the colourful keynote address, delivered by Roger_Keeley. Roger’s speech captivated the audience with his outlook on life and added his ever so popular touch of wit and laughter to it all. His contribution to this symposium was recognized by all the attendees who overwhelmingly requested his return for 2008.
Throughout the three day event, attendees engaged in a variety of networking and discussion opportunities, including a special session on Thursday January 26 called “TOWN HALL MEETING” which included the Pioneers Of Plastics, Jim Pilgrim & Rick Knittel who participate on the panel and answer key questions placed by their peers.
The list of industry leaders involved in this year's symposium was an impressive one: Nova Chemicals, Omya Inc, D.R. Joseph Inc, Battenfeld Gloucester, Davis Standard, Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corporation. Other symposium speakers included Neil_Sticha of Oakland Instruments who focused on the importance of accurately measuring blown and cast film thickness,Sam_D'Uva of Ingenia Polymers offered new developments in master batches for film applications, Chris Kerscher of Milliken and John_Perdikoulias of Compuplast who’s presentations were complimented upon by several of the attendees. The overall presentation content in 2006 and talent was professional and valuable to the blown film industry.
